The Client

A busy parish with a lot to share

Holy Trinity Catholic Church is a Catholic parish in Spruce Grove, Alberta, home to nearly 3,000 families.

Its website has to serve two very different visitors: regular parishioners checking Mass times, the bulletin and upcoming events, and people looking up the parish for the first time.

The Problem

A large amount of parish information, and many people keeping it current

A parish website isn’t a brochure. Holy Trinity needed one place to organize a fairly large amount of information into something people could actually use:

  1. Mass, confession and adoration times, office hours and contact details
  2. Every sacrament, each with its own preparation information and resources
  3. Ten ministries and parish programs, from Children’s Liturgy to the Knights of Columbus
  4. Weekly events and announcements, the bulletin and parish news
  5. Homilies and faith resources, published regularly
  6. Donations, stewardship, hall rentals and St. Joseph Cemetery

That content doesn’t come from one person. Different parish groups and volunteers need to keep their own sections up to date without breaking the site.

The Solution

One site that works for parishioners and first-time visitors

The site is organized around how people use it. The main menu groups everything into Information, Serve, Sacraments, Ministries, Faith Resources and Amenities. The homepage puts what parishioners check most often first: current events, Mass times, confessions, adoration, office hours and upcoming events.eople could actually use:

  1. Sacraments. A page for each, from Baptism and First Communion to Marriage, Becoming Catholic and Holy Orders.
  2. Ministries. Each ministry has its own page, plus ministry videos.
  3. Events. An upcoming events list, the bulletin and Holy Trinity News.
  4. Publishing. A homily page, a homily archive and Fr. Paul Talks.
  5. Mobile. Mass times and events work just as well on a phone.

The Result

A real, long-term relationship

Holy Trinity Catholic Church has a single, mobile-friendly home for parish life that its own groups and volunteers keep current, backed by a local team that has supported it for years. The strength of this project isn’t a statistic. It’s the breadth of the site and the ongoing relationship behind it.
